Robert Hills B.Com (VPM), B.Ed, B.Ed. Grad. Dip., MEdL Graduate Candidate This website was created as my final Major Project for the Masters of Educational Leadership (MEdL) degree program at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, B.C. Originally from New Zealand, I became a teacher in the B.C. school system relatively recently. After studying Business at Lincoln University in Canterbury, New Zealand, I began my working career in a real estate investment and development company, before my career took me north to England. There I worked as a Senior Fund Accountant for an international hedge fund. However, I always wanted to become a teacher. After moving with my family to Canada, I took time to expand my educational repertoire, gaining admittance to the Teachers Training Program (TEP) at the University of the Fraser Valley. Now, after teaching teacher a variety of subjects and grades ranging from Grade 6 through to Grade 12 A.P., I teach Junior Science in the BC lower mainland. This project gave me the opportunity to investigate the technology that is emerging and its relationship with education-- especially as it relates to the delivery if the new B.C. Curriculum. This is why the focus of this project is using mobile technology to support student learning and the self-reporting of the new Core Curriculum Outcomes. I welcome the opportunity to receive feedback, share ideas and collaborate. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to sharing your experiences, challenges and successes with M-Learning. |
